National cGMP Day 2024

National cGMP Day 2024 was celebrated with great pomp and show across the country.

On 10 October 2024, the 2nd National cGMP Day was celebrated amidst the presence of Industry Stalwarts and MAHE University officials at the TMA Pai Auditorium. During his address, the chief guest, Sri Mehul Shah, General Secretary- IDMA and promoter and MD of Encube Ethicals pvt ltd, Mumbai, expressed deep admiration for Manipal, calling it a "hub of education." He was amazed by the scale of the educational ecosystem, which includes over 25,000 students, 26 streams, and 130 courses. Sri Mehul Shah acknowledged the contributions of Dr. T.M.A. Pai, the visionary behind Manipal's educational infrastructure. Guest of honour, Sri Daara B Patel, Secretary General, IDMA, assured continued support for MAHE's initiatives and encouraged the audience to take a pledge to uphold high standards in their professional endeavors. During his welcome address, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Sharath K Rao envisioned a future where postgraduate courses of MCOPS integrate micro-credentials, leading to well-rounded, skilled professionals entering the workforce. Dr Girish Pai, Coordinator Centre for cGMP, highlighted the success of the first National cGMP Day, giving special credit to Mr Mehul Shah and Mr. Daara B Patel for their pivotal contributions. Sri S M Mudda was presented with the "National cGMP Award 2024", which was received on his behalf by Mehul Shah. Sri S M Mudda sent a message expressing his honour and commitment to fostering robust pharmaceutical quality systems. A minute of silence was observed paying homage and respect to Shri Ratan Tata. A newsletter titled- "cGMP CONNECT" was released at the hands of the Chief Guest Sri Mehul Shah, followed by the vote of thanks proposed by Mr Ravindra Shenoy, Co-coordinator Centre for cGMP. Dr Padmakumar, Professor, MIC, MAHE, was the master of the ceremony for the inauguration. Plenary sessions included lectures delivered by Mr Madhav Jain, Abbvie, USA; Pushpavalli Krishnamurthy, Ingredion Pharma texture solution and Dr Kaushik Devarju, President KRPA, Bengaluru, chaired by Mahesh Rao, Chief Quality Officer at IBPS, Goa, Dr A Srinatha, National College of Pharmacy, Shimoga and Mrs Akshaya Bhandarkar, Faculty, Vidya Siri College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru respectively. Industry- Institute panel discussion was moderated by Dr P V Mallya in the afternoon session with panel members Dr Girish Pai, Dr A Srinatha, and Mr Hemanth, Regulatory Affairs, Astra Zeneca, Bengaluru. The valedictory function was presided over by Dr Harish Kumar, Director-Corporate Relations, MAHE, and the chief guest, Sri Harish K Jain, President FOPE. Certificates were distributed to the winners of the poster presentations at the hands of the chief guests, Principal Dr Srinivas Mutalik and Dr Girish Pai. Dr Rekha R Shenoy, Faculty, MCOPS, coordinated the valedictory function.
