Centre for cGMP, MAHE, Manipal in association with Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA), Federation of Pharma Entrepreneurs (FOPE) and Pharmexcil proudly announces the prestigious launch of “cGMP AWARENESS SERIES”

 

Centre for cGMP, a Centre of Excellence under the aegis of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE, an Institution of Eminence) Manipal, in association with IDMA, FOPE and Pharmexcil has launched cGMP AWARENESS SERIES on 10^th May 2024. This is a new initiative conceptualized by Centre for cGMP, MAHE in association with IDMA, FOPE and Pharmexcil. This initiative is first of its kind and aims to educate pharmacy graduates on GMP concepts and emerging cGMP trends. Dr Girish Pai K, Coordinator of Centre for cGMP, MAHE, Manipal said that this is going to be a game changer initiative that shall specifically benefit pharmacy students and new entrants of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Earlier, Centre for cGMP, MAHE, Manipal had initiated the practice of celebrating “National cGMP Day” in association with IDMA. The first-ever National cGMP Day was celebrated on 10^th October 2023 at MAHE Campus, Manipal. The Centre for cGMP also conceptualized the world’s first-ever digital museum on pharmaceutical quality, MANIPAL cGMP MUSEUM’ dedicated to visionary founder, Dr TMA Pai, Padmashree Awardee.

Quality issues or critical manufacturing defects result in a disrepute to professionals in the industry and the pharmaceutical manufacturers. This initiative shall emphasize the need of cGMP & Quality right from academia ensuring strong commitment, from the fresh pharmacy graduates, to manufacturing quality products.  

IDMA, FOPE and Pharmexcil opined that this initiative will provide GMP insights and illustrate how cGMP and Quality awareness establishes the foundation for a strong quality culture in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.

On behalf of Centre for cGMP, MAHE, Manipal, Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen (Dr) M.D. Venkatesh and Registrar, Dr P Giridhar Kini released the first ever “cGMP AWARENESS SERIES” flyer on the topic “Understanding a Standard Operating Procedure, SOP”. The flyer was composed and released in association with IDMA, FOPE and Pharmexcil. 

On behalf of industry associations, the first ever cGMP AWARENESS SERIES flyer was released virtually by Dr Viranchi Shah, National President of IDMA for preview at the Executive Committee Meeting on April 19, 2024.

Henceforth, the Centre for cGMP in association with IDMA, FOPE and Pharmexcil shall release cGMP AWARENESS SERIES flyer every month.

Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen (Dr) M.D. Venkatesh and Registrar, Dr P Giridhar Kini, MAHE, Manipal appreciated and congratulated Dr Girish Pai K, Coordinator, all the Honorary Advisory Board Members and the Co-coordinators of the Centre for cGMP for their efforts and coming up with the new initiative on “cGMP AWARENESS SERIES”. 

Dr Srinivas Mutalik (Principal, MCOPS), Dr Muddukrishna BS and Dr Vasudev R Pai (Co-coordinators of Centre for cGMP) were present during the occasion.
