The Museum is a place to experience the live samples or specimens for enriching one’s knowledge.
Scientific museums play a major role in enriching and imparting knowledge to students and researchers in their respective fields.
Universally, it is common in pharmaceutical institutes to have museums that showcase various types of finished dosage forms, antiques, age-old weights, and measures, etc.
Hence in general, the conventional museums in any pharmaceutical institute depict and hold specimen of crude drugs, samples of various finished dosage forms, cosmetic products, and antiques.
In this highly specialized world, future museums should be driven by virtual experience through digital platforms.
Thus, this state of the art digital museum ‘MANIPAL cGMP MUSEUM’ was conceptualized by Dr. Girish Pai K, Coordinator, Centre for current Good Manufacturing Practices, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, along with Co-coordinators Dr. Muddukrishna BS, Dr. Girish Thunga, Dr. Aravind Pai, Dr. Vasudev Pai, and Illustrious industry experts Mr. Harish Jain, Managing Director, Embiotic Labs Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru and President, KDPMA and Mr. G Sundar, Director, Pharma QA Compliance Services, Chennai.
At Centre for current Good Manufacturing Practices (Centre for cGMP), MAHE, Manipal, we all heartily extend a warm welcome to all the esteemed visitors to witness this first-ever digital museum showcasing real-life pharmaceutical quality issues.

No doubt, the future is the Digital era, and keeping this in mind, a well-planned Digital Museum titled “Manipal cGMP Museum” was conceptualized.
Thus, the idea conceptualized by Dr. Girish Pai K and successfully executed with a team of experts would benefit the knowledge seekers across academia, industry, and regulators. The key advantages of the digital museum include ease of applying root cause analysis, knowledge about risks involved to the patient, and most importantly, well-defined remediation measures that could be applied for similar types of market complaint investigations in the pharmaceutical industry.
Manipal is a name that is synonymous with Quality Education. In this huge campus, there was no space constraint for creating a physical museum. Manipal Academy of Higher Education always supports innovative ideas, and therefore, we thought that Digital Museum on Real-life Pharmaceutical Quality Issues should start from Manipal.
Manipal cGMP Museum will impart a unique live experience feel as this approach was never explored till date.
Most importantly, to date, no Museum showcases real-life Pharmaceutical Quality Issues, either through a physical museum platform or digitally.
A lot of sincere effort, integrity with ethics, and hard work is involved in creating this Digital Museum.
This museum has an excellent collection of digitally recorded images of real-life Pharmaceutical Quality Issues of various dosage forms.
This museum shall make a meaningful and serious difference in the pharmaceutical space.
We plan to continuously upgrade and update the digital museum keeping the concepts up to date to realize that ‘c’ in cGMP as current is adhered to.
Please witness and enjoy the experience of the virtual tour.
